Career Highlights

• Acting for a large multinational on bribery allegations, including advising on Kenyan anti-bribery law, liability of companies and their officers, extra-territoriality issues, and the scope and extent of regulators’ powers of investigation.
• Defending the developer of a Vision 2030 Project mall against an interim claim pending arbitration seeking payment of $6m secured under a performance bond issued by a leading Kenyan bank.
• Defending an international electronics and car manufacturer in a High Cour suit alleging breach of various distributorship agreements and seeking Kes 1.3 billion in damages.
• Represented an an energy producer against an application for interim njunction against the development of a windfarm project in Kajiado brought by landowners and assisting with negotiations. Sought stay pending arbitration of the dispute under the lease agreements.
• Defending a FMCG manufacturer against a Kshs. 47million claim by former employees declared redundant.
• Advised and acted for a USD 300 million railway concessionaire against the government in a claim for wrongful termination of a freight and passenger railway concession under the agreement
